Day 10 - Running

Day 10 - Running
Day 10 - 11 September 2014

This is not a very good photo (not sure if it is the horrid green carpet or he pink of the shoes). But I've been trying to run more often, so I took a photo of my shoes to motivate me. At the moment my aim is to go for 2 runs a week, and work on increasing my distance. I've also been biking to work when I'm in Christchurch.

Taken at 10.19pm with my phone camera.

Day 9 - Shift

Day 9 - Shift
Day 9 - 10 September 2014

I finished reading this book on day 9. My friend Tim lent me the book, along with the one before it, Wool. Wool is fantastic, and Shift is pretty good too. I'm planning to start reading the final book in this series (Dust) shortly.

Taken at 10.00pm with my camera phone.

Day 8 - Cherry blossom

Day 8 - Cherry blossom
Day 8 - 9 September 2014

I took this photo of a cherry blossom tree on the bank of the Avon River on my walk to the bus stop after work.

Taken at 5.19pm with my phone camera.

Day 7 - Plane

Day 7 - Plane
Day 7 - 8 September 2014

I spent day 8 in Wellington, and this is a somewhat-blurry photo I took while waiting for my plane home.

Taken at 7.35pm

Day 6 - View from the Port Hills

Day 6 - View from the Port Hills
Day 6 - 7 September 2014

It was a nice day on Sunday afternoon, so Rory and I went up the Port Hills and had a picnic and read our books in the sun.

Taken at 4.15pm, with my actual camera (not phone camera for once!).

Day 5 - 6 September

Day 5 - Spring!
Day 5 - 6 September 2014

We're 6 days into spring and it definitely feels like it! This tree is down my driveway. You can see a bit of one of the neighbours houses, which I didn't realise at the time I took the photo as I was so focused on getting a good focus on the closest flowers. Lesson for next time I think.

Taken at 4.49pm

Day 4 - 5 September 2014

Day 4 - Birthday flowers
Day 4: 5 September 2014

My mum sent me some flowers for my birthday. This photo was taken about a week after they arrived, and they still looked really good! Better in fact, because the lilies had opened up. Thanks mum!

Taken with my phone camera at 8.20am.

Day 3 - 4 September 2014

Day 3 - Gin and tonic

Day 3: 4 September 2014

My team at work had recently moved to a new floor in our building. To celebrate, we invited other teams to come and have a drink with us after work.

This drink may be half finished...

Taken with my phone camera at 5.21pm

Day 2 - 3 September

Day 2 - ChristChurch Cathedral

Day 2: 3 September 2014

Rory and I ate lunch in the square this day, and I took this photo of the Cathedral. It was badly damaged in the February 2011 earthquake, and they haven't decided what to do with it.

Taken with my phone camera at 12.49pm.

Day 1 - 2 September 2014

Day 1 - Here we go again!
Hello again!

Welcome to my second round of project 365.

The aim of project 365 is to take one photo a day for 365 days. I first tried this a couple of years ago while at university, and did a pretty good run, but missed a few days. I also didn't manage to keep my blog up to date (I was trying to finish off an honours project at the same time...).

Now that I'm out of uni and working, I thought I'd give it a go again. Last time I wanted to get through a whole year, and hopefully get better at photography. I failed the first of those goals, and I'm not actually sure if I got any better at taking photos.

This time I want to:
  1. get through a whole year with one photo a day
  2. keep the blog up to date
  3. not leave taking a photo until right before I go to bed every night and
  4. feel less silly while out and about taking photos (more on this later).
So, that's what I'm doing. Again. I'm aiming to update a couple of times a week, and feel free to nag me if I get too far behind!

This photo: September 2 being the second day of spring, I dragged Rory on a walk around the park to find some daffodils to take a photo of. He managed to take a photo of me taking this photo (I swear I could create an entire blog of just my friends and I taking photos of each other taking photos - I even have a tag for it). Taken with my phone camera at 1.29pm.

I'll have the next few days up in a couple of days. Until then, Happy Spring!
